7 Reasons to Become a Holiday Camp Venue

Offering holiday camps not only provides a lifeline to busy working parents but presents an opportunity for schools to enrich their care provision.

Becoming a holiday camp venue is a natural progression for many schools who are passionate about offering a vibrant programme of extra-curricular and wraparound care provision, and there are many great benefits to be had.

Here are 7 reasons to host a holiday camp in your school:

1. Champion healthy, active lifestyles

Hosting a Premier Education holiday camp is a great way to demonstrate your commitment to promoting healthy, active lifestyles. Camps are fun-filled and action packed as well as inclusive and nurturing, appealing to children of all abilities.

The benefits of exercise for children are widely documented.

Physical activity has a positive effect on mood, self-esteem and wellbeing, alleviates anxiety and depression and improves aspirations, personal development and leadership skills.

Camps keep children active outside of term time and helps to avoid the temptation to get overly distracted, especially by technology, which is easy for children to gravitate towards during school holidays.

2. Something for everyone!

Some children adore team sports, others enjoy individual pursuits.

Children’s interests vary so providing a wide and enriching selection of activities is crucial.

With Premier Education there’s no ‘one size fits all’ offering. There’s multi-activity, multi-sports, sports-specific and performing arts-based camps, and each one is tailored to suit the needs of the children in attendance as well as the ethos of the school.

3. Bring in highly qualified & passionate coaches

Our activity professionals work full-time and are dedicated to keeping kids active and engaged on a daily basis.

Premier Education coaches are trained to the highest standards in all activities they provide, along with having sport-specific knowledge and the support from the National Governing Bodies we partner with.

Our coaches are trained in over 30 different sports and activities, so if you’re looking to complement football with fencing, switch hockey for handball or add archery and athletics, with Premier Education there’s plenty of sporting diversity!

4. Financial incentive

Holiday camps can be partly funded by the PE and Sport Premium, allowing you to reduce the costs to parents whilst raising your PE and school sport profile.

In some instances, Pupil Premium can also be used to supplement the fee to certain pupils.

5. Provide a lifeline to busy parents

With more people returning to the workplace, there is increasing pressure on parents to find safe and reliable child-care outside of term time.

To support busy working parents, a growing number of schools are offering holiday camps across summer, Easter, Christmas and half-term breaks, to provide a more complete year-round offer.

The school can provide a camp which is not only aligned with its values and ethos, but one that mirrors the school day, providing familiarity and consistency for pupils.

Plus, offering a camp in a trusted and known environment saves parents the time and worry of finding a childcare solution elsewhere.

6. Support families in your community

Not only are camps a huge support to families in your school’s area in terms of childcare, but by running them with us as your partner, you can ensure parents and carers can use childcare funding towards the cost of these camps.

We accept Tax Free childcare and Childcare Vouchers at around 50% of our camps and we are working to increase this figure.

This helps to ensure that the provisions you offer are as cost-effective as possible, without compromising on quality.

7. Stress-free solutions

Schools worry that taking on holiday camps means added admin and logistics.

Working with the Premier Education team, a dedicated regional manager will help you devise the type of camp you want.

There’s a support package to help promote the camp to parents and help boost occupancy.

There’s a simple online booking portal, which means that parents book places online and we’ll take care of overseeing staffing, ratios, timetables and registers for you.

It’s important that schools work with a partner that can deliver a leading, reliable and consistent service, which enhances the school’s offering.

Don’t just take our word for it…
