Premier Education

The safety of pupils and staff is our number 1 priority.

As the UK’s No. 1 provider of sport and physical activity to primary school children for over 20 years, we are determined to continue providing first-class support to our partner schools during Covid-19 and beyond.

This commitment has meant we have had to adapt our provision, our delivery, and our procedures to ensure activities can continue in a fun, engaging and SAFE way, observing social distancing guidelines for schools at all times!

Here, we outline the 5 ways we are continuing to support schools:

Advanced Training

All Premier Education Activity Professionals are being trained to the highest standards. We will be levelling up our training to include the completion of an accredited course, the Transcend Level 2 Award in Infection Prevention, Mitigation and Management. The safety and health of the children in our care, school staff and our coaches is paramount.

Risk Assessments

Local area managers will conduct a thorough risk assessment of the education setting prior to any services being provided. Areas of focus include; allocated areas for Premier Education Activity Professionals to operate in, adequate hand sanitiser and cleaning products are provided at all times, extra hand-washing time has been accounted for in lesson plans, what to do if someone displays symptoms of Coronavirus and staff to pupil ratios.

These assessments will allow us to work alongside the school in ensuring that each party has taken all necessary steps in reducing the risk of infection throughout the school.

Smaller Groups

There will be a 1:10 ratio of Activity Professionals to children for the under 8 year olds, and a 1:12 ratio for children aged 8-12 years of age, allowing the 2m social distancing rule to be acknowledged at all times during the delivery of activities in assigned areas.

Each group will operate as a ‘bubble’ during each day of the Holiday Camp.

Clear Procedures

We have put in place clear procedures for operating in a school environment. All Premier Education staff will be knowledgeable and comfortable working within these guidelines before entering your school. These rules and procedures are in place to keep pupils, school staff and our Activity Professionals safe at all times.

Reduced Activities

We have streamlined our offering to facilitate safe engagement and delivery of each activity. Wherever possible, we will deliver activities outside and we will provide each child with their own allocated space in which to work in, allowing the 2m social distance to be applied.

All measures are reviewed on a regular basis and follow the most up-to-date guidance from the Government, the Association for Physical Education and ukactive. You can view our full manual by clicking the link below.
