Fun, story based adventures for pre-school children

We’re looking for venues to host our Start Sporty programme, which encourages 2 ½ to 5 ½ year olds to get active, and enjoy their first taste of sport in fun-filled session.

The programme is available to all early years settings; including primary schools and nurseries. We’ve designed Start Sporty so that it can be easily built into timetables, or provided as an extracurricular activity!

What is Start Sporty?

Start Sporty is a diverse, multi-sport offering which is scientifically proven to aid children’s physical development. We provide a positive introduction to sport through a range of fun, story-based session – all of which are aligned to the Youth Physical Development Model. Our Start Sporty clubs are a one-stop shop for a variety of sport and activity that little ones will love.

Start Sporty benefits

Why is Start Sporty needed?

  • Children are generally happier, healthier, better sleepers, and more school ready when they are active regularly.
  • Keeping physically active is vital to the health and development of pre-school children.
  • Children aged 1 – 5 years old should get at least 180 minutes of activity each day (this can include standing up, moving around, rolling, and active play!)

How Start Sporty benefits children:

  • Helps to build relationships and social skills
  • Helps pre-school children to maintain a healthy weight
  • Our dedicated and fully qualified Activity Professionals inspire a lifelong love of physical activity

How do primary schools and nurseries benefit from the Start Sporty programme?

By hosting our clubs, either in addition to, or within your nursery setting, you give early years children an opportunity to take part in fun, engaging sessions. It’s a fantastic way to get younger kids moving and inspire a lifelong love of physical activity throughout the children in your community.

By signing up, you’ll also have a great opportunity to showcase your venue to the community. We provide fully qualified, specialist coaches at each of our Start Sporty sessions – maximising the benefit on early years development, and bringing the fun to each activity.

  • A whole class lesson
  • An extracurricular club, taking place either before, during, or after the regular timetabled day has finished
  • As a community session, utilising your facilities to provide parent funded sessions to the community
