Lacrosse

Originating in America centuries ago, lacrosse can be described as somewhere between hockey and basketball.

Using special sticks with nets on the end, the idea is to throw and catch the ball, working as a team to get it into the opposition’s goal. Communication and teamwork are essential in this game!

Lacrosse is a fast-paced game which builds agility and strength alike. We prefer the non-contact version which requires a great deal of speed and precision to excel at. Our coaches will include a mix of games and activities which improve a range of different skills.

There’s plenty of opportunity to learn transferable skills through lacrosse, such as the principles of defending and attacking. These transferable skills can be applied to a wide range of other sports, even if the specific techniques of lacrosse aren’t there, so there’s always something to learn.

On our journey, we’ve found that introducing children to a wide variety of sports – many they haven’t tried before – makes them more likely to engage and stay active.
